Our May 2017 Learning Group Meeting was hosted by MAZDA UK at their Dartford headquarters and organised by our sister non-profit organisation, Gaia Innovation Ltd.
As well as an update on our UK Automotive 30% Club Actions, the event included a presentation by McKinsey on Closing the Gender Gap, and from Women Returners to examine strategies to access and encourage candidates returning to the workforce. In conjunction with this, we presented the recently released All Party Parliamentary Working Group’s Paper on Women Returners, which was launched in January 2017. Finally, our partner organisation Speakers for Schools gave an update on the forthcoming 30:30:30 Campaign.
The purpose of the annual Learning Group Meeting is to hear from experts from outside the automotive industry, including a VIP guest speaker, about topics that could help to shape the “30 by 30” strategy in the member organisations. Delegates will also be updated with the actions being taken within the group and the wider automotive sector, and participate in discussions and share ideas on how to attract, recruit, promote and retain women to achieve a better gender balance.
