Meet Sinéad Reid, Regional HR Manager, TrustFord and IAW Award Winner for 2019
Sinéad was appointed to Regional HR Manager in January 2017 to cover Maternity, and then re- appointed to the same position on a full time contract in May 2018.
She is responsible for providing a complete HR support service to all management and colleagues throughout Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. This involves dealing with all employee relations and promoting Trustford’s company “Purpose and Principles” at all times. The role assists with talent management, recruitment, colleague progression, and overall engagement and retention.
As the motor trade has been, and is, an exciting, challenging, and enjoyable industry, Sinéad is determined to work towards a more gender balanced workplace. She comments: “For me, I get great satisfaction in supporting managers with talent management, personal progression plans, and recruitment and retention, to help us work towards this goal. Having a more gender balanced workplace not only has its advantages for our colleagues, but also for our customers, which helps us to live by our company purpose of Driving the Standard in Customer Care.
Sinéad’s reaction to hearing that she is an Inspiring Automotive Women was: “I am humbled to have received this award. It is extremely moving that someone took the time and effort to nominate me; something which I am sincerely grateful for”.
Sinéad also comments on who inspired her to join the automotive sector: “After graduation, like many young people, I spent some time considering my career path. Interestingly my Father, who was (and still is) a loyal customer to the Ford Brand brought the vacancy at that time to my attention. His passion and enthusiasm around the motor industry made me ‘give it a go’, and 13 years later I am fully embracing and thoroughly enjoying my career with TrustFord.”
