“Becoming a 30% Club Silver Member was a fantastic moment for me personally and represents an exciting new chapter in TrustFord’s journey to become a more diverse and inclusive organisation.”
We have been proud supporters of the Automotive 30% Club from its inception, contributing to Club events such as Inspiration for Innovation and school outreach programmes. I was also particularly proud of the success we enjoyed in the 2020 and 2021 Inspiring Automotive Women Awards.
A TrustFord Board member since 2013, I have played a key role in supporting positive change throughout our TrustFord Family and I’m really passionate about making our business more diverse and inclusive. Nurturing our culture on D&I is one of my top ambitions for the company, something I see as fundamental to our business delivering its purpose – to ensure we drive the standard in customer care.
TrustFord operates in 43 towns and cities around the UK and Channel Islands and it’s vital that our teams up and down the land better reflect the communities they serve. Although we have already achieved the Club’s aim of filling at least 30% of key leadership positions with women by 2030, we are know that there is a lot more to be done. This gender balance needs to be reflected at all levels of our business, across all roles.
On the back of changes to policies, recruitment processes and the creation of our Leading Ladies support network, we have seen incremental progress on gender balance in our business. We’ll be working with the 30% Club and other partners to keep the momentum up throughout 2022 and beyond.
The year ahead is about developing the culture throughout our Group, raising awareness and improving how we engage with customers and each other. Plans to support this include changing the way we measure diversity within TrustFord, inviting diverse colleagues throughout our business to share their opinions and to drive positive change and supporting our managers by improving their skills to become more inclusive leaders.
We are still in the relatively early stages of our D&I journey but I’m really excited about what the future holds. I look forward to continuing to work closely with the 30% Club as we make our TrustFord Family a more diverse and inclusive place. It’s really important that we all do our bit to drive the 30 by 30 strategy throughout our industry, improving its image, serving our customers better and ultimately enhancing performance across the board.
